Notes

-- Charlie Morton will go against Bronson Arroyo tomorrow.

-- Everybody said "cool" when Washington canceled today's game bright and early, sometime around 9:30 AM. Too bad it never rained.

-- Hey, guess who's outhitting Andrew McCutchen (.242), Matt Diaz (.233), Jose Tabata (.233), Lyle Overbay (.230) and Pedro Alvarez (.210)? Aw, you cheated - or does everyone know that Ronny Cedeno has inched his average up to .243, after batting a very nice .333 so far in May? The team average, BTW, is just .235.

-- Jeff Seidel of MLB.com noted that five Pirate #1's are on the 25-man roster - Paul Maholm (2003), Neil Walker (2004), Andrew McCutchen (2005), Daniel Moskos (2007) and Pedro Alvarez (2008). The Royals with six are the only MLB team with more.

-- Cory Giger of the Altoona Mirror said RHP Chris Leroux was sent back to Indy to clear space for RHP Bryan Morris, who just cam off the DL.

-- Colin Dunlap of the Post Gazette reports that John Bowker is getting some work at first base in Indy, a position that may better suit his toolbox and a position the Pirates have no depth at within the system, especially if Jeff Clements' knee is shot.

-- Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus has his Top Twenty list of draft prospects; like evryone else, he has the Bucs now juggling four names - Anthony Rendon, Gerrit Cole, Danny Hultzen and Dylan Bundy.

-- In his draft preview, Conor Glassey of Baseball America writes that the Bucs are looking at Rendon, Cole, and Hultzen, plus Florida prep shortstop Francisco Lindor & Kansas prep outfielder Bubba Starling.
