Notes, Lineup

RHP Kevin Correia (2-5, 4.19) will take the bump in the rubber match against the Reds' RHP Mike Leake (2-5, 4.95). KC has thrown well enough to keep the Bucs hangin' in this season, with six quality starts. Leake has been fairly strong in last three outings. So the back ends of the rotation will decide the series. The game starts at 7:10 and will be shown on Root Sports.

The lineup: Alex Presley LF, Neil Walker 2B, Andrew McCutchen CF,Garrett Jones 1B, Pedro Alvarez 3B, Jose Tabata RF, Clint Barmes SS, Mike McKenry C, Kevin Correia P.

Hey, the boys are back in town. Pedro is manning the hot corner (although not back at cleanup) again while JT patrols right field again. Matt Hague takes a seat on the pine, his first day off since being called up; Jones has been outplaying him lately.

  • Ron Cook of the Post Gazette has a piece on Joel Hanrahan, who tells the columnist that he doesn't expect to be traded.
  • Starting tomorrow, the Pirates begin a stretch of 15 straight games against teams from the AL when they visit Kansas City.
  • Chris Leroux tossed his first rehab outing for Bradenton last night, going 3 innings and giving up a run on two hits, a walk and notching two K.
