Lineup, News, Notes

RHP Kevin Correia (10-8, 4.28 ERA) goes against the Reds RHP Mike Leake (7-9, 4.73) tonight. KC has pitched fairly well, and won 9 of his last 12. Leake lost to Philly last outing, which may be bad news. He hasn't lost back-to-back games since May. The game begins at 7:10 and will be shown on Root Sports.

The lineup: Brock Holt 2B, Alex Presley LF, Andrew McCutchen CF, Garrett Jones 1B, Pedro Alvarez 3B, Jose Tabata RF, Michael McKenry C, Josh Harrison SS, Kevin Correia P.

The Fort behind the dish and J-Hay at short; apparently Jordy Mercer has Pedro Cirioco-itis.. JT has been solid lately; but we're kinda surprised that Clint Hurdle think he;s evolved into a six hitter. Boy, they miss Neil Walker.

Well, they're still in at, though the field is bigger and gaining. They'll be facing some awfully weak pitching at Chicago after this series; it'd be nice to see them start rolling now.

  • Amazingly, the Pirates are still just 2-1/2 games behind St. Louis for the final wild card spot and 1-1/2 games behind LA. But they best watch behind them; both the Brewers and Phils are only 2-1/2 games behind Pittsburgh.
  • Brandon Phillips tweeted a message tagged "racism" aimed at the Bucs, with no specifics. We're sure that'll develop more today.
