Sunday: Jeff Locke v Tim Adleman, Lineup, Notes

Today: The Sunday Kid's game will start at 1:35, weather permitting, and be on Root Sports and 93.7 The Fan. It's also the free MLB.TV game for out-of-market fans. The young 'uns will receive a plastic Cutch Silver Slugger replica bat.

Pitchers: Jeff Locke (1-2, 5.03) closes the set against Tim Adleman (0-0, 0.00). Jeff came up big for the Bucs last outing, and the staff could use that kind of performance on a more consistent basis. He was quite solid against Cincy earlier this year, going six strong innings in an eventual 2-1 loss. Adleman was scratched from his scheduled start for AAA Louisville last night, as scheduled starter Raisel Iglesias has a sore shoulder, and plugged in for today's game. He went 2-0/4.24 for the Bats, and is a pretty interesting story. Not only is the 28 year old making his first MLB appearance, but was an Indy League hurler for two years before the Reds picked him up in 2014.

Lineup: John Jaso 1B, Cutch CF, Josh Harrison 2B, Starling Marte LF, Gregory Polanco RF, S-Rod 3B, Jordy SS, Stew C, Locke P. Some getaway day manuevering and order shake 'n' bake with Fran off and Freeser getting a maintenance day. Good to see Cutch and Starling penciled in. Marte took a couple of pitches off the bod last night, most notably one to the fingers of his left hand, while Andrew was a bit gimpy after a sliding catch by the track.

  • Not only have the Bucs won six straight; that's how many the Reds have lost in a row. Laissez les bon temps roulez!
  • Raisel Inglesias' shoulder must be a thing - he was placed on the 15 day DL just prior to the game.
