Wednesday: Birds visit Bucs, Taillon v Ubaldo Jimenez, Lineup, Notes

Today: The Orioles trek to Bradenton to take on the Pirates at LECOM Park. The first pitch is at 1:05 and is on Root Sports and 93.7 The Fan. It's also on MLB.com for out-of-market fans.

Lineup (starters): Adam Frazier 2B, Jordy Mercer SS, Jose Osuna 1B, David Freese 3B, John Jaso LF, Phil Gosselin RF, Danny Ortiz CF, Stew C and Jameson Taillon P.  JJ and Goose are manning the outfield corners; the Pirates are still trying to decide if they have a good fourth OF'er option. Jordy's been getting a few looks in the two hole; whether that's to get him extra spring at-bats or actually a thing is TBD.

Pitchers: Jameson Taillon, Antonio Bastardo, Jared Hughes & Juan Nicasio. Jared is still looking for his mojo while the other arms have produced solid springs.

Notes:
  • The Bucs will get a chance to hook up with old bud Pedro Alvarez; he's hitting fifth for the Birds as the DH. It's El Toro's 2017 spring debut.
  • Team Israel was eliminated in WBC play, so RHP Jared Lakind will be back on the Bucco barstool soon.
  • Fangraph's Eric Longenhagen listed his Top 100 Prospects. Pirate pups that made the grade are OF Austin Meadows (#5), RHP Tyler Glasnow (#26), RHP Mitch Keller (#46), 1B Josh Bell (#50), SS Kevin Newman (#83) & 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes (#99).
