Since he signed a minor league contract, that wouldn't require an option. But I haven't seen the tweet confirmed, so caveat emptor; if the contract says active roster rather than 40-man, then he has to go north. The 40-man sounds right, tho. I thought there was a very real chance he started at Indy to get acclimated, but his age, contract, resume and even a bit of psychology probably played into their decision to etch his name in stone.Ron Ieracihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08784507810080514099noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6207200414495313452.post-33930914954086032342015-03-25T19:32:15.572-04:002015-03-25T19:32:15.572-04:00I sure hope Kang doesn't get totally lost at t...I sure hope Kang doesn't get totally lost at the plate. If he does, can the Pirates send him down to Triple A? Honestly, I thought it was a reach to start him off in the majors, anyway. You can see why the brass thought it might work. Kang is 27 and thus has a lot of experience, plus he's played in the World Baseball Classic and done alright against some of the best players in the world. So he was not a bad gamble in that sense. But ya know what they say: "Welcome to The Show, kid". I hope he can be at least somewhat useful for us this season.
