Fuhgeddaboudit

OK, folks, back up and keep moving, nothing to see here. The Bucs were left for roadkill in Cincy this afternoon, losing 11-2.

The Pirates used five pitchers; only Chris Resop didn't struggle. The Reds bombed four homers, one a crushed grand slam by Ramon Hernandez and a pair by Jonny Gomes. The best that can be said is that no one got hurt, at least physically.

Oh well, tomorrow's another day. Jeff Karstens will take on Edinson Volquez at 1:10 PM, and the game will be aired on Root Sports.

-- Ryan Doumit and Garrett Jones had two hits.

-- Jose Tabata had his on-base streak ended at 13 games.

-- After a 3-for-31 slump, McCutch got on base three times today with a knock and two walks. He also notched his first stolen bag of the year.

-- Pittsburgh drew a season-high seven walks, but only had six hits to go along with them, and five were singles.

-- Dewey has thrown out 3-of-10 base stealers this year, a much more representative 30% success rate than last year's 12%. In his career, he's thrown out 25% of the basepath larcenists who have challenged him.
