Tonite's Lineup (If God Shuts Down The Sprinklers!)

-- Oooops, hold on to your tickets...tonight's game has been postponed. The make-up date is TBA.

-- The Brew Crew are in town; like Pittsburgh, they are 5-5. Unlike Pittsburgh, they've won five of their last six games. Their ace, Zach Grienke, is on the DL, so they're hoping to hang around until he's back, maybe later this month.

-- Kevin Corriea takes on Shaun Marcum tonight; the game is scheduled to start at 7:05 and will be on Root Sports. (EDIT - nope, game rained out)

-- It was announced that Jeff Karstens was supposed to get the start Thursday; we'll see how the rain-out affects the Bucco rotation when the sun finally shines.

-- Milwaukee won 13 of 18 against Pittsburgh in 2010 and are 46-17 against the Buccos since 2007.

-- The lineup: Jose Tabata LF, Neil Walker 2B, Andrew McCutchen CF, Lyle Overbay 1B, Pedro Alvarez 3B, Ryan Doumit C, Garrett Jones RF, Ronny Cedeno SS, Kevin Correia P.

-- Joe Beimel is looking good at Indy; he's gone back-to-back games and nailed all six hitters, three by K.

-- Jen Langosch of MLB.com reports that Jose Ascanio will start his rehab at Bradenton.

-- Tim Dierkes of MLB Trade Rumors started a series on upcoming 2012 contract issues; the Pirates are the lead-off report.

-- Lastings Milledge cleared waivers and accepted his White Sox assignment to AAA Charlotte.

-- The Cards, as expected, granted Ian Snell his unconditional release so he can talk to other teams if he rejoins the baseball world.

  1. Doncha just hate the Brewers??? Jease, Louise. I mean, how can a bunch of drunken brewery workers get over so consistently on a shipful of saber-wielding buccaneers? It's enough to make ya cry.
