- Rollin', rollin', rollin' - the Bucs took another, 5-2, over the Tigers yesterday. The Buccaneers are 5-1 so far in the Grapefruit League, for what it's worth. It beats their usual slow starts out of Bradenton, if nothing else.
- Pittsburgh travels to Toronto's camp today for a 1:05 game, aired by 93.7 The Fan. The lineup: Starling Marte LF, Chris Dickerson CF, Neil Walker DH, Gaby Sanchez 1B, Travis Snider RF, Brent Morel 3B, Tony Sanchez C, Josh Harrison 2B and Clint Barmes SS. The pitchers: Jay Jackson RHP starting, others TBA.
- Jeff Locke was scratched today due to stiffness in the right side. Let's hope that's not an oblique injury, or the first wave of pitching depth will have already taken a hit.
- RHP Ryan Beckman was on the fast track before TJ surgery in 2012; he's back in the left lane again, according to Michael Fenton of the Toronto Observer.
- Ex Bucs - LHP Mike "Gonzo" Gonzalez signed a minor league deal with Washington.
"Somehow we have developed this large contingent of know-it-all baseball fans who bay like wounded coyotes at any mention of wins, losses, RBI or batting average. I never know whether I should blame myself for this or not.." (Bill James)
