Rain Rain Go Away, Notes & Cutch Vids...

Rain Rain Go Away & Notes...

  • Pretty iffy game conditions for tonight. The forecast is for rain through the morning, a break, then rain again tonight around nine. Thursday's day game has virtually no chance of being played. Hey, at least it ain't snow! Charlie Morton is scheduled to take on Edwin Jackson.
  • The Bucco payroll to start the year, per USA Today, is $77,845,999. Minus the contribution by the Astros for Wandy, it drops to $72,345,999. The page gives the salaries by player, but isn't the 40-man payroll - it just covers the active roster and the two guys on the DL, Jeff Locke and Chris Stewart.
  • Pirate popularity, according to Nate Silver's Facebook stats,  is fairly high.
  • The Indy roster: PITCHERS - Jacob Brigham, Brandon Cumpton, Jared Hughes, Phil Irwin, Jay Jackson, Josh Kinney, Andy Oliver, Casey Sadler, Daniel Schlereth, Zack Thornton, Duke Welker and Adam Wilk. CATCHERS - Nevin Ashley and Carlos Paulino. INFIELD - Robert Andino, Chase d’Arnaud, Matt Hague, Andrew Lambo, Michael Martinez, Chris McGuiness and Brent Morel. OUTFIELD - Jaff Decker, Chris Dickerson, Gregory Polanco and Adalberto Santos. 15 of the 25 are from outside the organization; 11 of those guys were added during the off-season.
  • Mike  Whiteford of the Charleston Gazette has the 411 on  C Reese McGuire, now with the WV Power. He has “Joe Mauer potential,’’ said manager Mike Ryan.
    “Joe Mauer potential,’’ said Ryan
    “Joe Mauer potential,’’ said Ryan
  • Chris Cotillo of The Daily Dish reported that a source told him "Hanrahan to the Mets is 'definitely a possibility.' Negotiation process with teams hasn't seriously started yet." They must like the Bucco bullpen - NY just called up Kyle Farnsworth, has Vic Black stashed in AAA, Ryan Reid is on the 40-man roster and the FO is looking at Hanny.
And a couple of Cutch commercials to close out the day. First, his newest on Sports Center:

And his older MLB ad, with an entirely different tone:
