Charlie Morton v Kyle Lohse; Lineup & Notes

Today's Game - Charlie Morton (3-0, 2.84) closes the Brewer set against Kyle Lohse (3-6, 6.50). Charlie has won his first three starts since coming of the DL, though he was roughed up at Atlanta after two strong outings coming off the DL. He's 2-6 with a 4.63 ERA in 11 career starts against Milwaukee, and dropped a pair of matches to Lohse in 2014. However, Charlie's been money at PNC Park. He's gone 5-2 with a 1.98 ERA in his last 10 starts on the banks of the Allegheny. Veteran righty Lohse has run into a tough streak, giving up 17 runs in 13-2/3 innings over his last three starts. The 36 year old is 11-5/4.02 lifetime against the Buccos, but dropped his last three outings v the Pirates, including two in April.. The game starts at 7:05 and will be on Root Sports and 93.7 The Fan.

Today's Lineup - Gregory Polanco RF, Starling Marte LF, Cutch CF, Neil Walker 2B, Jung Ho Kang 3B, Pedro 1B, Fran Cervelli C, Jordy Mercer SS, Morton P.

Josh's turn to sit down, while Starling and The Kid play musical chairs with the cleanup spot.

  • Charlie Morton is looking for a personal best five consecutive wins tonight (including his last 2014 outing). He last won four in row back in 2013. He's also never started a season 4-0.
  • Fran Cervelli has reached base safely six times in his last eight plate appearances and has 19 hits in his last 42 at bats (.452 BA).
  • Pedro's last 11 homers have all been solo shots; he hasn't gone deep with a runner on since August of last season.
  • Cutch is moving up in the All-Star balloting, climbing to fifth place in fan voting for the game. He still has a ways to go, but he's starting to get some ballot love. Starling Marte is further down the boards despite a strong showing out of the gate, registering at 15th.
