Milwaukee-Pittsburgh Finale, Kuhl v Suter & Notes - Corey D On Leave, Fraze Back, Kang Has Wrist Injury

Today: No getaway game; this is a regular 7:05 start and will be aired by AT&T SportsNet and 93.7 The Fan. Rain will come into play; stormy weather is moving through and isn't supposed to clear out until eight o'clock or so, and may leave a spotty shower or two behind.

Pitchers: RHP Chad Kuhl (5-4, 3.76) closes out the set versus LHP Brent Suter (7-4, 4.30). Chad's been showing off his slider and it's been effective. He's posted a 2.45 ERA over his last five starts with 28 K in 29-1/3 IP. Kuhl is 3-0/1.91 in six career starts against the Brewers and tossed a seven-inning, one-hit goose egg against them in early May. Suter's been strong, too, surrendering three or fewer runs in six straight starts. It's his first start against the Pirates this season, but he has a 1.80 ERA against them in 20 career innings, including a scoreless relief outing in May. Should be a pretty good matchup tonight.

Lineup: Josh Harrison 2B, Austin Meadows RF, Starling Marte CF, David Freese 3B, Eli Diaz C, Jose Osuna 1B, Jordy SS, S-Rod LF & Kuhl P. Bench-clearing day against a lefty. We're kinda wondering why S-Rod gets to cover the left field acreage instead of the speedier AM; guessin' Clint has an arcane stat to answer that. Corey D is on emergency leave, so he'll be AWOL for a bit.

Notes:
  • Corey Dickerson was given family medical emergency leave; we're hoping there's nothing seriously wrong with his fam. He can miss up to a week, so Adam Frazier was recalled from Indy. Fraze had already started the afternoon game and got in three innings before being pulled for the trip to fly to Pittsburgh.
  • Lots of hubbub caused after Jung-Ho Kang was scratched from the Indy lineup, but no, he's not coming here quite yet. Kang has unspecified "left wrist discomfort" and is day-to-day.
  • Sean Burnett, 35, was released from his minor league contract w/the Marlins; his career was derailed by 2013 TJ surgery.
