Pitchers: RHP Joe Musgrove (8-11/4.59) bumps heads with LHP Patrick Corbin (9-5/3.44). Big Joe has a feast or famine problem; in 13 of his 26 starts, he's given up two runs or fewer, but in seven starts, he's given up five or more tallies, so there's not much consistency in between good & bad Moose. He last faced the Nats last year, giving up two runs on five hits and whiffing nine in five frames while taking the loss. Patrick has been on a roll in his last 11 outings, with just one rough trip, going 4-0/2.37 with 86 punchouts in 68-1/3 IP. Corbin breezed against the Pirates in April, surrendering a run on four hits with 11 K in seven innings, although the Buccos came back to win the match.
Notes:
- Dario Agrazal is in the clubhouse, and Parker Markel is also here as the Bucs placed Chris Archer and Clay Holmes on the IL. Archer has right shoulder inflammation and Holmes has left quadriceps discomfort. Inflammation and discomfort, btw, are natural responses to injury, so we don't really know what's up with either guy.
