- Starling Marte didn't sound too concerned about being dangled in the trade market. He told Hector Gomez of MLB Insider that “They (Pirates) have the power to decide about my future. If it was for me I will leave for a team that is ready to compete right now on a World Series and that’s not our case." But he did add "If it doesn’t happen, I will keep working hard and giving my team all I have.” So he basically answered a trade status question with a "che sera, sera...whatever will be, will be" with the proviso that he'd like to play for a contender, despite the click bait hot takes.
- MLB.com picks which prospect is likeliest to be dealt by each team during the offseason; the Pirates shiny bauble is...Kevin Kramer.
- On Monday, MLB teams have to offer arb-eligibles tender offers for their 2020 contracts. MLB Trade Rumors has a list of potential non-tender candidates; as expected, the only Pirates on the list are C Elias Diaz and IF Erik Gonzalez. Spoiler alert: the post emphasizes this is a list of guys who may be on the bubble and is admittedly speculative.

- RHP Nick Kingham has signed with the Korean League SK Wyverns; hopefully, The King can find his game there.
- The Phillies signed INF Josh Harrison, 32, to a minor league contract with an invitation for spring training. J-Hay was hurt much of last year with a bad hammy as a Detroit Tiger and hit just .175 in 36 games before being released in August. It was reported that he had offers from five clubs before settling on the Phils. His running mate, SS Jordy Mercer, 33, was also hurt (quad) and his El Tigre's season didn't really start until July; he hit .270 and is a FA now.
- The Baseball Meetings are just around the corner, running December 8th-12th in San Diego and culminating in the Rule 5 Draft.
