Tuesday: Wil Crowe v Brady Singer

Today's Game: First pitch is at 8:10 and will be aired on AT&T SportsNet & 93.7 The Fan. The Bucs have  have now dropped six games in a row at Kauffman Stadium, dating back to their last win here on July 20th, 2015.

Lineup: Adam Frazier 2B; Ka'ai Tom LF; Bryan Reynolds DH; Gregory Polanco RF; Ben Gamel CF; Wilmer Difo 3B; Kevin Newman SS; Michael Perez C; Erik Gonzalez 1B (Wil Crowe P). The DH does not make this a more ferocious lineup.

Pitchers: RHP Wil Crowe (0-3/5.67 ERA) goes against RHP Brady Singer (2-4/4.91 ERA). Crowe has given up three-run innings in four of his last five starts; avoiding the big frame is an ongoing issue with him. His problems show up in his per game stat line of 10 hits, five walks and 1.7 homers per game. Crowe has never tossed against the Royals. Singer, 24, had a strong April but May hasn't been so kind - in five starts, he's 1-4/6.66 with up-and-down performances. This will be his first go against the Pirates.

Notes:

  • 1B Colin Moran (left groin) and UT Phillip Evans (left hamstring) will begin their rehab assignments today at Indy.
  • Per Jason Mackey of the Post Gazette, RHP Miguel Yajure is dealing with soreness in his right elbow/forearm area and he'll miss his next start at Indy. The Bucs' organizational depth is really being tested this season.

Tomorrow's Game: The Pirates are off and will return to Pittsburgh to face the Marlins on Thursday.
