Short & Sweet - Bucs Swept Without A Sweat 5-0

I know you guys are used to War and Peace length recaps, but we'll be short and sweet today; no point in dragging out the misery.

- The Bucs lost 5-0. They had more errors (three) than hits (one).
- Wandy lasted three batters and 14 pitches before he left with tightness in his forearm; seems to be a lot of that going around lately. It may have come about from a collision at first with leadoff batter Andrelton Simmons, but that's just our speculation.
- Bryan Morris pitched well, going 3-2/3 scoreless frames. Vin Mazzaro served back-to-back homers while Jared Hughes gave up a couple of more runs on two hits, a walk and a HBP. Mike Zagurski closed with a clean inning.
- Julio Teheran lost a no-hitter with two down in the eighth when Brandon Inge lined a single to left. Inge also broke up Johnny Cueto's no-hit bid in Pittsburgh on Friday. Teheran had a career high 11 strikeouts, walked two and bopped one (what's a Pirate game without someone getting plunked?).
- The Bucs have a day off tomorrow, then play three under the sun at Wrigley Field. Pitching obviously TBA.

  • Wandy wasn't available after the game. He was already on a flight back to Pittsburgh for an examination.
  • James McDonald will throw five innings/80 pitches for  Indy tomorrow.
  • RHP Gerrit Cole retired 13 straight batters while working seven shutout innings for Indy today, giving up three hits, a walk and K'ing three on 95 pitches.
