Saturday: Chad Kuhl v Michael Wacha, Lineup, Notes

Today: The game will start at 1:05 and will be aired on FOX (WPGH in Pittsburgh) and broadcast by 93.7 The Fan.

Pitchers: Chad Kuhl (5-4, 4.25) matches up with Michael Wacha (7-7, 4.93). After nine solid starts, Cool Chad had his cage rattled by the Cubs in his last outing, so we'll see if he has some bounce-back in him. Wacha hasn't started in two months, missing time with shoulder inflammation. He hasn't fared very well in three relief outings since his return and will be on the shortest of leashes today.

Lineup: Adam Frazier LF, Josh Bell RF, S-Rod SS, Gregory Polanco CF, Jung Ho Kang 3B, John Jaso 1B, Alen Hanson 2B, Jacob Stallings C, Kuhl P. Cutch gets the day off, so that gives another Pirates pup a chance to play as it should be at this point of the season.

  • Steve Adams of MLB Trade Rumors ranks Sean Rodriguez among the five hitters who have boosted their free agent value the most this year.
  • All three NL wildcard contenders won last night, so the Mets remain two games and the Giants one ahead of St. Louis.
