Lineup: Starling Marte LF, Max Moroff 2B, Cutch CF, Josh Bell 1B, Jordan Luplow RF, Elias Diaz C, Sean Rodriguez 3B, Jordy Mercer SS & Trevor Williams P. J-Hay has a broken hand so there might be a rotation at second in the closing month of play.

Pitchers: Trevor Williams (5-7, 4.37) closes the set against Sal Romano (4-5, 4.91) Who'd have thunk when camp broke that the 25-year-old Trevo would be making his 22nd start (28th game) of the season today? He's been pretty steady at the back end of the rotation, giving up more than three runs just four times in 21 starts. Those four bombs-away outings accounted for 24 earned runs and his north-of-four ERA; he's given up just 31 runs in his other 17 starts. T-Willy hasn't done very well against the Reds, with a slash of 0-1/7.53 ERA in five career games (two starts). Trevor has one start this year with a no decision (5-1/3 IP/2ER). The light has come on in the last three starts for 23-year-old Romano. He's gone 2-0/2.70 and worked 20 IP after pitching to a 6+ ERA and hitting the wall after five or six innings in his first few mound visits. So we'll see if he's acclimating in his rookie campaign. The last time he faced the Bucs was exactly a month ago, losing 6-0 (six IP, eight hits, four runs and three K; it remains his only start of 11 w/o a walk).
Notes:
- The Pirates placed J-Hay on the 10-day DL with a fracture of the fifth metacarpal (aka the "boxer's fracture") on his left hand. The team recalled Chris Bostick from Indy.
- OF'er Austin Meadows was placed on the DL for his oblique injury so that Indy could fill his spot for the playoffs; it's been a lost season for the next big thing.
- RHP Luis Escobar of West Virginia made this week's MLB Pipeline Top Prospects team.
