Notes:
- 3B Ke'Bryan Hayes and C Jake Stallings won 2021 Fielding Bible Awards for their glovework.
- Bryan Reynolds is one of seven NL finalists for the Silver Slugger Award; the winners will be announced on November 12th.
- CF Reynolds, Stallings and SS Kevin Newman are finalists for the Golden Glove Award (there are three for each position), the winners to be named on November 7th.
- Ben Cherington said that the remaining members of Shelty's staff will return for 2022, although there may be some changes in responsibilities. He added that they've begun interviewing for a hitting coach, a process that is expected to take a while.

- The Pirates organization gave out Minor League awards like they were Halloween treats:
- Matt Fraizer: Honus Wagner Player of the Year
- Adrian Florencio: Bob Friend Pitcher of the Year
- Oneil Cruz: Willie Stargell Slugger of the Year,
- Enmanuel Mejia: Kent Tekulve Reliever of the Year,
- Lolo Sanchez: Omar Moreno Baserunner of the Year
- Jared Triolo: Bill Mazeroski Defender of the Year.
- Indy's Bligh Madris, Altoona’s Josh Bissonette, Greensboro’s Aaron Shackelford and Bradenton’s Logan Hofmann: Manny Sanguillen Teammates of the Year.
- Joel Hanrahan: Danny Murtaugh Coach of the Year
- Greensboro Grasshoppers: Staff of the Year
- Pirates prospects 3B Juan Jerez (.394 BA) and OF/DH Rodolfo Nolasco (.409) made the Florida Rookie League All-Star team. Jerez is 19 (he'll be 20 next month) and Nolasco just turned 20 in late September.
- RHP Hunter Stratton (2-2-7/2.39, 70 K in 49 IP, Altoona/Indy) will pitch in the Dominican Winter League.
- Cutch and his wife Maria welcomed a third lil' McCutchen into the world, Ave Maria, who joins bros Armani and Steel.
- Kenny Macha was inducted into Pitt's Hall of Fame last weekend.

- RHP Edgar Santana was released by Atlanta. They bought his contract in April from the Bucs, and he put up a line of 3-0/3.59 in 41 outings for the Bravos.
- Jameson Taillon's luck continues to run sour: He had ankle surgery on October 28th, with an expected recovery time of five months. He partially tore the tendon in early September and tried to pitch through it after some rest. Jamo will likely miss the start of camp.
- Rotten break for a good guy: RHP Charlie Morton suffered a right fibula fracture when he was hit by a comebacker in the opening game of the Series. Chuck faced three batters after breaking his leg; he retired the trio, two by K. He'll miss the remainder of the Fall Classic, but is expected to be ready for spring training in 2022.
- RHP Jesse Chavez began his nine-team, 14-year career with the Pirates in 2008. He pitched in his first World Series game this week. Chavez had worked one post season outing coming into this year.
- Heard about any CBA movement lately? Neither have we as December 2nd looms...
