Hey, the Bucs just changed their post All-Star rotation; Jeff Karstens and Kevin Correia just swapped starts, pushing KC back from Friday to Sunday. It can mean but one thing - Correia is going to the All-Star game. The official announcement was made during the game.
KC was the sixth pitcher in the player's voting, one spot shy of qualifying. But with Cole Hamels pitching today, a spot opened, and Correia got it.
The free agent pick up is 11-7 with a 4.01 ERA, and has been a dependable inning-eater for the Bucs this year. His eleven wins are second in MLB, and that's what got him the honor.
The last time Pittsburgh had three players named to the All-Star team was in 1990, when Barry Bonds, Bobby Bo and Neal Heaton represented the 412.
