- Starling Marte expects to be ready for the Oriole series tomorrow, but there's still no word on the severity of Jose Tabata's hamstring issue.Stolmy Pimentel is scheduled to throw today before the Pirates determine the next step in his rehab.
- Neal Huntington told Greg Brown on his Sunday 93.7 The Fan show that "“We’re not playing well enough to be a playoff-caliber team right now. We’ve got to get some maturity back into our at-bats. We’ve got to play better defense ..and our starters have got to do a better job of working ahead in the count...We’re just not playing very well.”

- Gregory Polanco was named the International League batter of week. He hit .591 with nine RBI, 22 total bases, .654 OBP and 1.000 slugging %. It's the second time this season he's won the award.
- Justin Morneau has a slash of .327/.355/.585 for Colorado with 9 HR and 32 RBI. Some of it is Coors-generated, as he has an OPS of 1.021 there. But he's been pretty equal opportunity, with an .859 OPS on the road and just a 5-4 homer split. Only the first quarter of the season, but...
- Ex-Bucs: C Mike "The Fort" McKenry was optioned to AAA by the Rockies. LHP Brian Burres, now pitching in the Indy Atlantic League, is receiving some MLB interest.
