The pitching: Jon Niese gets the nod today, with Neftali Feliz, Rob Scahill, Curtis Partch, Guido Knudson and Kelvin Marte following up. Adam Morgan toes the rubber for Philly. Yoervis Medina, who was a Buc for five minutes earlier in the off season, and Chris Leroux, a Pirate reliever from 2010-13, are also scheduled to work for the Phils.

Yesterday: Another good start; Jeff Locke went three frames and faced just 10 batters while tossing 33 pitches. Not good enough; the Phils took home a 1-0 win as AJ Schugel apparently didn't get the same shutout memo everyone else did. Alen Hanson & Starling Marte combined to go 4-for-5, but overall the Bucs didn't help themselves a whole lot. Pittsburgh had eight hits, but seven were singles, with three DPs, a picked off runner and a guy gunned out at home (although that was prob a "blocking the plate" violation, but thankfully no challenges can be made in the spring). Here's the game box.
- Gerritt Cole's rib tweak is being handled, and rightfully so, with kid gloves. The Bucs want one more live BP session before they clear him for spring action.
- It won't die...Matt Goldman of MLB Daily Dish thinks that it's strange to see how the Pirates and Mets are treating Gerrit Cole and Jacob deGrom.
- The Orioles have agreed to a one-year, $5.25M deal with Pedro Alvarez, with an additional $1.25M in incentives.
- Of course it's back - here are the dates and the tees for Free Shirt Friday games at PNC.
