Today: The Pirates take on the Boston Red Sox at McKechnie Field. The game starts at 1:05 and will be on Root Sports & MLB.TV.

The pitching: Ryan Vogelsong climbs the hill, followed by Mark Melancon, Arquimedes Caminero, Jared Hughes, Jim Fuller, Eric O’Flaherty and Trey Haley. Joe Kelley will get the ball for the Bosox.

The lineup: Alen Hanson 2B, Francisco Cervelli C, Gregory Polanco RF, Starling Marte LF, Michael Morse 1B, Danny Ortiz CF, Sean Rodriguez 3B, Cole Figueroa SS and Vogelsong P. The back end boys will be Max Moroff, Ed Easley, Harold Ramirez, Jake Goebbel, Josh Bell, Adam Frazier, Dan Gamache and P-Flo.

Yesterday: Jon Niese did not have a good day, giving up all four Phil runs during his three innings in a 4-2 loss to the Brotherly Love boys.The good news is the other guys put up goose eggs, giving up four hits over the last five frames. But the Pirate attack cranked out just four hits total, three of them against Chris Leroux in the seventh that produced the Bucco tallies. The box score is here.
