Happy Labor Day! Bucs Come Home to Face the Reds, Willy v Harvey, Lineup & Notes

Today: It's a 1:35 Labor Day special with the game carried by AT&T SportsNet & 93.7 The Fan.

Pitchers: RHP Trevor Williams (11-9, 3.30) opens against RHP Matt Harvey (6-7, 4.97). Williams enters his 27th start of 2018 having become a recent force of nature. Willy's posted a 0.75 ERA over his last 48 innings spanning eight outings and started eight shutouts this season. Trevor hasn’t faced the Reds since April 6th, when he gave up two runs on 10 hits in 5-1/3 innings during a "dodge the raindrops" outing. After a hot start, Harvey has been erratic; the Reds couldn't get a deal they liked at the trade deadline and then pulled him off August waivers after being unable to strike an agreement with the Brewers. He's already gotten three starts against the Bucs as a Redleg, and they've run the gamut - he surrendered one run, then three in the next appearance and eight in his last trip to the hill, so it's tough to tell which Harvey will show up.

Lineup: Starling Marte CF, Adam Frazier 2B, Gregory Polanco RF, Fran Cervelli C, Corey Dickerson LF, Josh Bell 1B, Colin Moran 3B, Kevin Newman SS & Williams P. Jordy's off, otherwise same ol'.

Notes:
  • The Pirates outscored the Reds 27-5 while sweeping a three-game sets at GABP the last time they met in late July.
  • Jacob Stallings, called to Pittsburgh a little bit early after Eli tweaked his hammy, has collected a ton of frequent flyers miles - this was his fifth trip to the big team.
  • You may not have heard much about Pablo Reyes, but the utility guy hit .289 with 20 doubles, 4 triples, 8 homers and 36 RBI in 110 games at Indy. He's been on the scouts' radar if not the public's as a jack-knife bench player.
  • Indy was eliminated from the playoffs last night after a late summer funk, with the flip side being the prospect pipeline is now open. They play their finale today, so we'd expect the troops to be called up tonight. Altoona won the Eastern League Western Division last night so they're glory-bound to the post-season.
