Notes:

• Per reports, everyone - pitchers, catchers and position players - have already reported to camp, so it'll be a full house when the opening bell rings Monday, with no holdouts, travel/visa issues or whatever to distract from playin' ball.
• The Pirates won their arb hearing with 1B Ji-Man Choi. He’ll earn a $4.65M salary rather than the the $5.4M he sought. He said no hard feelings and he's ready to focus on the season.
• Bryan Reynolds reported to camp, and Kevin Gormley of the Trib has B-Rey's contract POV - “I want that to be a fair deal for both sides. Not one side or the other. Not a crazy player, not a crazy team deal."

• Per Pirates Prospects John Dreker, the Bucs signed 30-year-old LHP Kent Emanuel to a minor league deal. A starter, he worked briefly for the Astros in 2021 and then had a nice line in AAA last season (2-2/2.37) but was on the IL during each of the past two campaigns. Pittsburgh originally drafted him out of HS in 2010, but he went to North Carolina instead, where he became the ACC Pitcher of the Year and a third-round pick by the Astros in 2013.
• The Pirates released their spring radio & TV schedule.
• The Brewers signed 35-year-old LHP Justin Wilson to a one-year contract with a club option for 2024. Wilson underwent TJ surgery last June, and if he doesn't come back this year, the option allows the Brew Crew a choice whether or not to control him when he is healthy.
• The Rangers are reportedly in agreement with OF Robbie Grossman on a one-year major league contract. It's Robbie's sixth team since leaving the Pirates organization in 2012 as part of the Wandy Rodriguez deal.

• MLB's competition committee voted to make the extra inning "ghost runner" rule (inning starts with a runner on second) permanent for the regular season. Postseason games will continue to feature standard play in extra innings. They also tightened the window when position players can take the hill. They can pitch in extra innings, or in the ninth inning for a team that is up by 10 or more runs or anytime for a trailing team that is down by eight runs or more.
• New rules that were already approved to go into effect this season: No shift (IFs in the dirt, two on either side of 2B); pitch clock (15 seconds with the bases empty, 20 w/a runner); P disengagement (pickoff, step off the rubber, fake throw - two per at-bat allowed, the third is a balk) and bigger bases for safety (from 15" to 18").
