Pitchers: Gerrit Cole (5-4, 2.85) starts the set against Michael Wacha (2-6, 5.26). After four starts of shutdown ball, Cole Train has been touched for six runs in his last two outings over 12-1/3 IP. He faced the Cards on May 8th, giving up a pair of tallies in six frames on the way to a 10-5 win. Wacha has been struggling big time since the Bucs beat him (with Cole), giving up 27 earned runs on 40 hits in has last six outings covering 29 frames. Pittsburgh is hoping that trend continues tonight.
Lineup: JJ 1B, Cutch CF, El Coffee RF, JHK 3B, Starling LF, Fran C, Josh 2B, Jordy SS, Cole P. Looks like the A-Team's in action tonight.
After a grueling stretch with a doubleheader, extra inning match and red eye to and from Colorado, the Bucs take on the Redbirds for three games before a blessed day of rest. This is, as usual, a big series; the clubs are tied for second in the division at 32-28, 10 games of the Cubbie pace. The Redbirds have won 4-of-5, their only loss in that stretch a walk-off defeat to the Reds, while the Bucs are 2-for-5, bolstered by the doubleheader sweep of the Mets. Pittsburgh is 5-1 v St. Louis this season and looking for a third series victory.

- Altoona OF Austin Meadows made this week's Baseball America Prospects Hot Sheet.
- The draft soldiers on through rounds 3-10 today. We'll have a post up covering those selections after the smoke clears; there are generally a couple of ballplayers to be mulled on day two.
