Pitchers: RHP James Marvel (0-1/3.60) meets RHP Kyle Hendricks (10-9/3.33). Marv was solid enough in his debut against the Cards to deserve a better fate (he lost 2-0). He's got a rotation spot locked in through September. Hendricks has given up two or fewer runs in 11 of his last 13 starts. He's been good against the Bucs, even tho he's 0-1 in his two 2019 starts, yielding three runs in 10 IP.
Notes:
- SS time since September call ups: In 12 games, Kevin Newman has gotten eight starts (w/an ninth at second), Tuck has started three times and Erik Gonzalez once (w/another start at third).
- Jake Stallings joined the ouch list today with a tight back. Also out are J-Bell, who is day-to-day with left groin discomfort, and Starling, who is ditto with a sprained wrist.
- The Pirates have given up 10+ runs 27 times this season in 148 games.
- In Jordan Lyles first eight games with Milwaukee, he's 5-1/2.51 and given up two or fewer earned runs in seven of those starts. In his first eight starts for Pittsburgh, he was 4-1/1.97, also tossing seven games with two or fewer earned runs allowed. But those 10 in the middle when he went 1-8/9.57...
