Game: The third game of the all-daylight series starts at 2:20 and will be broadcast by AT&T SportsNet & 93.7 The Fan.

Lineup: Kevin Newman 2B, Bryan Reynolds CF, Pablo Reyes LF, Jose Osuna RF, Elias Diaz C, Colin Moran 1B, Cole Tucker SS, Erik Gonzalez 3B, Trevor Williams P. Starling and J-Bell are still out; Fraze is down for a lefty...this is def your textbook Sunday lineup. And hey, how often do you have three shortstops in the lineup at the same time?

Willy tries to salvage a game against Q - photo Pittsburgh Pirates

Pitchers: RHP Trevor Williams (7-6/5.21) closes the set out against LHP Jose Quintana (13-8/4.15). Willy has been banged on since June, but in the last four games, he's been turning it around, with a 2-0/3.28 line. He split his two starts against the Cubs that bookended the AS break this season, but he gave up 13 runs in 11 innings on 20 hits, with four leaving the yard. Quintana has been whacked in his last two outings (10 runs, eight earned, in eight innings). But the Bucs are under Q's spell this year - in four starts, he's slashed 4-0/2.00, going 27 IP with 28 K.

Notes:
  • The Pirates have given up 31 runs in the first two games v Chicago; the previous high of tallies leaked in a three-game set this year was 28, surrendered to the Dodgers in May. The Braves also put up 28 runs in the first three games of a four-match series in June (they ended up with 34 runs in toto).
  • Maybe a surprise, maybe not, but the Bucs were officially eliminated from the postseason after yesterday's shellacking.
  • The Bucs are off tomorrow, then open a quick three-gamer at PNC Park with Seattle.
  • Jordan Lyles beat Jack Flaherty last night for Milwaukee to lower his Brewer ERA to 2.39 while Tyler Glasnow is coming along after his rehab. He went three shutout innings for Tampa with two hits and five whiffs in his second outing since coming off the IL; his ERA is 2.03 w/11K per nine IP for the Rays.
