- RHP Dario Agrazal, recently DFA'ed, has been sold to the Detroit Tigers. He slashed 4-5/4.91 for the Bucs last season after coming back from a series of injuries in 2017-18.

- Sweet Baby Jane! - Mike Feinsand of MLB.com writes that the Pirates should trade Starling Marte to the Padres for OF Hunter Renfroe and RHP Pedro Avila. Renfroe hit .216 last year (33 HR, 154 K) and Avila, a projected mid-to-back-ender, had TJ surgery in September. Talk about selling low... But Starling could be valuable, especially if the Bucs go into rebuild mode - Jon Heyman says the Mets have interest in him (SNY has even speculated on what a possible deal could look like) and there are several other teams with holes in CF, including the Cubs, Reds, Diamondbacks, Phillies and Rangers.
- Joe Myers of Lede News has some thoughts on the Cherington challenge.
- BTW, the reports of Larry Broadway's firing last week were at best premature; he's still around. Ben Cherington said "...most, perhaps all, of the remaining front office staff will stay in place to aid in the transition." That's not exactly a long-term endorsement, depending on what BC considers the transition period, but it makes sense that Cherington would take some time to evaluate the current gang.
- Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline looks at the Bucco farm system; he finds it top-heavy.
- The Braves signed C Travis d'Arnaud to a two-year/$16M contract; he was thought to be potentially a good fit in Pittsburgh.
- JJ Cooper posts in Baseball America that the MLB proposal to chop 25% of the MiLB teams is serious and not just a negotiating ploy, with links to the Congressional letter to baseball and the MLB response.

- Cutch was back for his "Project Pittsburgh" program. He started his charity booster on the 16th and it ran through the 23rd with a variety of community events. Andrew may have turned into a baseball nomad, but he's proving that he's still a yinzer at heart.
