The Pirates have reacquired IF Josh Rodriguez, their 2011 Rule 5 pick, from the Cleveland Indians for PTBNL or cash considerations (Jen Langosch of MLB.com tweets that it's cash). Rodriguez was hitting just .193 at Columbus, but only had 65 at-bats because of a groin injury.
He was assigned to Indy, so maybe they're greasing the skids for Chase d'Arnaud to get the call up. Rodriguez didn't play any middle infield for Cleveland this year (he played the OF and 3B), but he could go to second if Pedro Ciriaco is swapped out for d'Arnaud. We're kinda at sea over the move otherwise, unless it's for upper level depth with Josh Harrison and Ciriaco currently on the big team.
But hey, when the Bucs let him go, they said they'd like to work out a deal with the Tribe to keep him. So they got their wish, even if it took awhile.
