- RHP Evan Meek was placed on 15-day DL with shoulder tendinitis. RHP Tim Wood was called up from Indy to replace him, while C Chris Snyder was switched from the 15 to the 60-day DL to clear space. Wood, who pitched for Florida (1-1-1, 4.32 ERA) in 2009-10, had a 2.96 ERA/13 saves at Indy, with 24 Ks in 24-1/3 frames and a WHIP of 0.904
- Dan Connelly of the Orioles Insider doesn't think Oriole C Jake Fox will land in Pittsburgh (EDIT - he's right; Fox was outrighted to AAA). Mike Axisa of MLB Trade Rumors lists a couple of other possible candidates to bolster the catching corp. The Pirates have to weigh their choices carefully; Jason Jaramillo is due back by the end of the month, Dewey by the end of July, and Chris Snyder can't return until at least August now.
- Jared Hughes was promoted to AAA Indy from Altoona, where the 25 year old was 3-4 with a 4.09 ERA.
