Clint, NH Extended, Lineup and Pre-Game Notes

Lineup and game notes:
  • Francisco Liriano and Joe Kelly match up in tonight's 7:05 game, which will be aired by the MLB Network and 93.7 The Fan.The lineup: Starling Marte LF, Travis Snider RF, Cutch CF, Pedro 3B, Russ Martin C, Neil Walker 2B, Travis Ishikawa 1B, Jordy Mercer SS and Liriano P.
  • The Bucs have extended the contracts of GM Neal Huntington & Manager Clint Hurdle for three years, with club options for the 2018 season.
  • Liriano hasn't lost at PNC Park since June of last year. In 14 regular season starts at PNC Park, he's gone 9-1 with a 1.45 ERA.
  • With his two RBI last night, Andrew McCutchen is now tied with Jack Wilson (201) for second place all-time in career RBI at PNC Park, trailing only Jason Bay (241). Cutch also ranks third in home runs (50) at PNC Park behind Bay (61) and Garrett Jones (51).
  • Tony Watson finished the 2013 campaign by making 21 consecutive scoreless appearances, dating back to August 6th. His 22-1/3 consecutive scoreless innings streak (dating back to last season) is the third-longest active streak in the Major Leagues behind Kevin Siegrist (26 IP) and Hisashi Iwakuma (23 IP).
  • Travis Ishikawa's homer last night was his first since May 15th, 2012, when he was with the Brewers. His first, in 2008, was off current teammate Charlie Morton, who was then pitching for Atlanta.
  • The Bucs have not allowed more than three runs in any of their first four games, the second straight year they can make such a claim per MLB Stat of the Day.
  • Mark Melancon has the longest current streak of not allowing a home run (65 IP) among all MLB pitchers. Joey Votto was the last to go long on Mark the Shark back on April 14th, 2013.
  • We're kinda wondering about the status of two Buc pitchers that the FO has been mum on - Jameson Taillon and Vin Mazzaro.
  • John Dreker of Pirates Prospects reported that Indy placed IF Robert Andino on the DL; no reason cited.
  • Ex Bucs: The KC Royals DFA'ed SS Pedro Ciriaco.
