Pitchers: Ryan Vogelsong (1-1, 3.74) makes his return against Tyrell Jenkins (1-2, 4.91). V-Song has been off for 10 weeks following a brutal beaning, and has a couple of solid rehab outings under his belt. Kinda surprising that he's thrown right into the fire, but the Bucs made it known all along he was going to be stretched out as a starter, so that's a story that will play out over the stretch. Tyrell is coming off his first MLB win against the Phils, but has had some control issues with 13 walks in his last 15-1/3 IP. The rookie joined the rotation in July and only had one bad outing so far. That was at Colorado, not a particularly kind yard for pitchers, where gave up three dingers to the Rox. The Bravos think highly of his tools; he tagged along with Shelby Miller in the Jason Heyward deal.

Lineup: Adam Frazier RF, David Freese 1B, Matt Joyce LF, Starling Marte CF, Jung Ho Kang 3B, Josh 2B, Jordy SS, Eric Fryer C, Vogelsong P. Josh is back from his leg tweak, Gregory is getting a rest tonight and Cutch is still sitting. JJ appears to have slumped himself into a bench spot. Ya gotta admit that Clint has given everyone a chance to run with the ball.
- V-Song's return from the 60-day DL triggered a couple of roster moves. Max Moroff was optioned back to Indy and Wilfredo Boscan was unconditionally released to clear a 40-man spot.
- We're guessing Fran is recovering OK; he was on the field doing some running and tossing, and Elias Diaz wasn't activated, so.... But it's said the medical staff is still evaluating, even 1-1/2 hours before the game, so that may change. My rant: why take a chance; that's why there's a 7-day DL.
- This will be the last game the Pirates ever play at Turner Field. The Bravos new playground should be ready for next season.
