Pitchers: Jameson Taillon (3-2, 2.85) matches up against Jeff Samardzija (10-8, 4.23 ERA). JT just gets better as he settles into his MLB routine. The only little nagging voice is that he's on track to work 180 IP between Indy and Pittsburgh after two years off, and we hope the workload doesn't catch up. The Shark is no stranger to the Bucs. They've seen him 22 times in his career (11 starts) and he's been more than solid, posting a line of 4-4, 2.79 against the Pirates. But his last time out earlier in the year, Pittsburgh chased him after three innings, so they can build on that.

Lineup: Josh 2B, Starling Marte LF, Cutch CF, Gregory Polanco RF, Jung Ho Kang 3B, Fran Cervelli C, John Jaso 1B, Jordy SS, Taillon P. Freeser's turn to take a seat; looks like the three crner guys will be on rotation, per matchups, etc. Looks like the rest after his hamate surgery did Fran a world of good - he's hitting .435 with a .548 OBP for August.
- Alex Craft of MiLB.com takes a look at the recently en fuego Alen Hanson.
- Sometimes the best move is no move - Yankees RHP Nathan Eovaldi will miss the entire 2017 season due to two elbow surgeries. He was an early target of the Bucco deadline drill.
