Morton v Wolf, Lineup, Dream Outfield & More...

Charlie Morton (3-7, 3.14 ERA) goes against. LHP Randy Wolf (1-2, 4.15 ERA) today. Morton is 3-1 with a 2.35 ERA over his last four starts, and is piling up K's and minimizing walks of late; he's also been fairly effective against lefties. But Miami has been tough on him. In his career, he is 4-3 with a 4.70 ERA in eight starts against the Marlins.

The Fish inked 37 year old lefty Wolf, who was working in the minors after a second TJ operation, a month ago after  Jose Fernandez went down. The 13 year veteran has faced the Bucs 20 times during his career, going 9-4 with a 4.43 ERA.

The Lineup: Gegory Polanco RF, Starling Marte LF, Cutch CF, Gaby Sanchez 1B, Josh Harrison 2B, Jordy Mercer SS, Pedro Alvarez 3B, Chris Stewart C and Morton P. Josh is back; he's at second with Pedro in the lineup  (El Toro is 3-for-9 with two HR against lefty Wolf) and Russ earning a day in the hot tub after catching 13 frames last night.

The game starts at 4:10 and will be aired by Root Sports and 93.7 The Fan.
  • The Bucs have won three straight games, four of their last five and gone 10-5 in their last 15 games.
  • Dream Outfield - In two games with Gregory Polanco, Starling Marte and Andrew McCutchen at the top of the order, the trio has combined to go 15-for-33 (.455) with two doubles, a homer, seven RBI and nine runs scored.
  • Dan Zangrilli of 93.7 The Fan confirmed that RHP Vance Worley will get called up from Indy for tomorrow's start. The news was seconded in the Pirates pre-game notes.
  • In the last 100 years, there have been four 13-inning games played on a Friday the 13th. The Pirates have been involved in (and won) three of them, per ESPN.
