Jamo v Zack Greinke, Lineup & Notes

Game: The getaway game is at 12:35 and will be on AT&T SportsNet and 93.7 The Fan, weather permitting, as it's supposed to be a damp & dreary afternoon in Pittsburgh.

Lineup: Cole Tucker SS, Gregory Polanco RF, Colin Moran 2B, Josh Bell 1B, Jung Ho Kang 3B, JB Shuck LF, Elias Diaz C, Jason Martin CF, Jameson Taillon P. Redbeard is a man for all positions, Cervy gets a breather and JB gets a start.

Pitchers: RHP Jameson Taillon (1-2/3.12) concludes the series v Zack Greinke (3-1/4.60). Jamo has been comin' around, and on any other staff that ERA would be sparkling. He worked once against the D-Backs last year, holding them to two runs on six hits in seven innings for the only win of the 2018 series against the Snakes. Don't let Zack's line fool ya; he's still feeling the effects of laying an Opening Day egg and has tossed to a 2.81 ERA since. Greinke has been in the rodeo awhile and has 13 starts against the Pirates with an 8-4/4.54 line, so he hasn't overwhelmed but been good enough to take home the W.

Notes:
  • Pittsburgh has lost four in row and are trying to avoid being broomed today.
  • In the past seven games, the Pirates have scored only 19 runs. Their 75 runs tallied over the season ranks 29th in MLB. Their next opponent, the Dodgers, lead the NL in run production with 144 scores.
  • The Bucs leave town for a five-game road trip after today, visiting LA tomorrow night to open a three-gamer, then stopping at Texas for a pair of matches.
  • Alex Stumpf of The Point of Pittsburgh wonders if Jamo may be becoming a bit over reliant on his slider.
