Archie v Mike Foltynewicz, Lineup & Notes

Game: The getaway game is at 12:35 and ends the Bucco homestand. The match will be aired by AT&T SportsNet and 93.7 The Fan. Gray morning, but it should be good for the game.

Lineup: Kevin Newman 2B, Bryan Reynolds LF, Starling Marte CF, Josh Bell 1B, Colin Moran 3B, Gregory Polanco RF, Cole Tucker SS, Jake Stallings C, Chris Archer P. Fraze gets a blow; Jake's in for a day-after-night game. He caught Archie's last game, so whether by coincidence or thing, here he is again.

Pitchers: RHP Chris Archer (2-5/5.66) closes the set against RHP Mike Foltynewicz (1-4/6.10). Both of these guys should do better; we'll see if either one straightens up and flies right this afternoon. Archie did go seven innings in his last outing, but Folty was bitten by three long flies in his last go around and has given up 13 bombs in 39 IP. Chris faced Atlanta twice last year, lasting 10 innings and giving up two runs on seven hits with eight K. Folty didn't work against Pittsburgh last year; in 2016-17 he went  1-3/6.88, giving up 13 earned runs, 25 hits and eight walks in 17 IP.

Notes:
  • It will be be wash, rinse & repeat after today - the Pirates visit Milwaukee for three games and Atlanta for four beginning tomorrow night, closing out the road trip with three games in Miami.
  • Bryan Reynolds has a 13-game hitting streak, longest for a rookie so far this year. He had an 11-gamer earlier in the season.
  • The Bucs seventh-round selection, C Blake Sabol, is Troy Polamalu's second cousin.
