Happy 4th: Jordan v Jose Quintana, Lineup & Notes

Game: The fireworks on the field begin at 4:05, with the game on ESPN and 93.7 The Fan. The Bucs are looking for the holiday sweep on national TV today. All the boomers, btw, may not be fireworks. There's a 50-60% of storms during the game.

Lineup: Kevin Newman 2B, Bryan Reynolds LF, Starling Marte CF, Josh Bell 1B, Melky Cabrera RF, Jose Osuna 3B, Jung Ho Kang SS, Eli Diaz C, Jordan Lyles P. Clint kinda likes this configuration against lefties (he figured out a way to completely eliminate LH batters) and in his last couple of games at short, JHK has been competent, so it's not quite as porous as it would appear at first blush.

Pitchers: RHP Jordan Lyles (5-4/3.71) closes the series against LHP Jose Quintana (5-7/4.21). Jordan came back from the IL and posted a quality start, tossing 103 pitches, against the Brewers his last time out. He's already topped the Cubs once, winning 5-2. He went six innings, giving up a run on three hits with 10 whiffs.  Quintana has been a roller-coaster ride for the Cubs; he's given up a run per inning or more three times, put up a zero four times, and so-so'ed two or three runs the other nine times in his 16 starts. He beat Pittsburgh 2-0 in April, giving up four hits in seven innings with 11 strikeouts.

Notes:
  • The Bucs have won 10-of-13 and have a seven-game home winning streak.
  • Pablo Reyes and Ke'Bryan Hayes rejoined Indy today after rehab stints; Gregory makes it three as he begins his rehab work there.
