Big Joe v Waino, Lineup & Notes

Game: The first pitch is at 7:15 and will be on AT&T SportsNet & 93.7 The Fan.

Lineup: Adam Frazier 2B, Bryan Reynolds LF, Starling Marte CF, Josh Bell 1B, Jose Osuna RF, Colin Moran 3B, Kevin Newman SS,Jake Stallings C, Joe Musgrove P. Same ol' - and we're guessing that as long as Erik Gonzalez is on the 25-man, Cole Tucker, who with Mitch Keller is the most likely suspect to merit MLB time, won't be.

Joey O is getting a good, long look - 2018 Topps

Pitchers: RHP Joe Musgrove (8-10/4.69) takes on RHP Adam Wainwright (7-8/4.50). Moose pitched through a sore back last time out and was clocked by the Mets as his reward after posting an excellent 3.09 ERA in the eight prior outings. Let's hope he's not the latest Bucco hurler to need more down time. The beatdown may not have been injury-related; he is inconsistent as seven of his 24 starts have resulted in five or more runs surrendered. Big Joe has faced the Cards three times this year and has yet to get into the sixth inning, with an 0-3/12.08 slash. Wainwright has been OK since June, going 3-3/4.04. He's 1-0/5.06 against the Bucs, being chased twice and tossing one gem.

Notes:
  • Cervy is supposed to begin a rehab stint at Altoona tomorrow, where he'll play as a catcher. Odd timing; his 20 days will take him to August 30th, a day short of being eligible for the September roster expansion. Maybe they have a 24-hour window to activate him.
  • The Pirates are 19 games below .500 at 48-67, the biggest spread of Clint's Bucco career. They've lost six straight and are 4-22 since the AS break.
  • To celebrate 10 years as a club, the Bradenton Marauders picked its all-decade team:
