Pitchers: LHP Steven Brault (3-1/4.33) meets LHP Jon Lester (9-8/4.43). Steven's still working on getting back his strength after some time on the IL; this is his third start since being recalled. He hasn't faced Chicago since April and was banged for four runs in three frames. Lester has a 10.93 ERA in three August starts, so maybe that mojo will continue; a lot of workhorse guys get dead arms for a spell during the dog days. He's tossed against the Bucs twice this year, giving up three runs in 8-2/3 IP.

- The Cubs have lost six of their last seven games and are a game behind the Cards in the NL Central and one game up on the Brewers.
