Pitchers: Trevor Williams (9-8, 3.88) hooks up with LHP Ty Blach (6-6, 4.28). Willy's on a four-start hot streak; raise your hand and go to the head of the class if you thought he'd have the same record as Jamo at this point of the season. This will be his first outing against the Bay City Bombers this season; he went against them last July and gave up two runs on three hits in six frames. Blach began the season in the starting rotation, then was moved to the bullpen in late May after he went 3-5/4.90 in 12 starts. He has compiled a 3-1/3.18 line in 21 relief appearances since then. Blach is taking the spot of Johnny Cueto, who is out for the season after recent TJ surgery, until Jeff Samardzija returns to action. He's never faced the Pirates.

Lineup: Corey Dickerson LF, Starling Marte CF, Gregory Polanco RF, David Freese 3B, Fran Cervelli C, J- Bell 1B, Josh Harrison 2B, Jordy SS & Williams P. Man, there are a lot of lefties in this league!
Notes:
- LHP Buddy Boshers and RHP Michael Feliz are expected to be recalled today to restock the bullpen with RHPs Clay Holmes and Casey Sadler to be optioned back to Indy. The move hasn't been officially announced (it's in the game notes) and still leaves no long man to replace Tyler Glasnow. Boshers has spent the year in AAA while Feliz has been feast or famine: he posted a 2.70 ERA in 22 games thru 5/20, then had an 8.27 ERA in his next 17 outings before being sent to Indy.
- Barry Bonds will have his number retired before the game, with Jim Leyland and Bobby Bo here for the ceremony.
- The Pirates have scored 10 runs in back-to-back games and in three of their last four after being held to just a three total runs Sunday and Monday.
