Dodgers Come To Town: Michael Feliz Opens v Walker Buehler, Lineup & Notes

Game: The series opens at 7:05 and will be on AT&T SportsNet & 93.7 The Fan. It's also a Zambelli Fireworks Night...Friday night, fireworks, beautiful summer weather, Dodgers  and J-Bell on the card...the game should be a thing tonight.

Lineup: Adam Frazier 2B, Starling Marte CF, Gregory Polanco RF, Josh Bell 1B, Bryan Reynolds LF, Colin Moran 3B, Elias Diaz C, Cole Tucker SS, Michael Feliz P. Good thing Eli's young...

Pitchers: RHP Michael Feliz (2-0/4.63) opens against RHP Walker Buehler (4-1/3.83), with LHP Steven Brault (1-1/8.24) to follow. Not sure what purpose it serves to start Feliz rather than Brault other than to be cool, but hey... Michael, btw, was a minor league starter through 2015. Buehler is on a semi-roll; he's given up one earned run in his past 13 IP and dropped his ERA by over a run. He's never faced the Pirates. Walker, btw, was a 14th-round HS draft pick of the Bucs in 2012 but didn't sign; it proved a good career move when he became a Dodger first-rounder in 2015, pitching out of Vandy.

And today's opener... (photo Dave Arrigo/Pirates)
Notes:
  • LA swept the Bucs in late April at Dodger Stadium, and Pittsburgh was 1-5 against them in 2018. The City of Angels has seven straight wins in the series.
  • Andy McCullough of the LA Times writes how J-Bell has gone from tinkering with to believing in his stroke.
  • OF Corey Dickerson (shoulder strain) begins his rehab assignment tonight with Indy. He’s been on the injured list since April 4th. Keona Kela is scheduled to work an inning of rehab for the Tribe tomorrow.
  • Mark Feinsand of MLB.com thinks that Pittsburgh would be a fit for Anthony Rendon.
  • The Bradenton Marauders had seven players selected to the Florida State League all-Star team: OF'ers Travis Swaggerty and Calvin Mitchell, SS Robbie Glendinning, 3B Dylan Busby and P's Cody Bolton, Luis Escobar and Joel Cesar. The ASG will be played June 15th at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, home of the Palm Beach Cardinals and Jupiter Hammerheads.
