Lineup: Adam Frazier 2B, Bryan Reynolds LF, Starling Marte CF, Josh Bell 1B, Colin Moran 3B, Jose Osuna RF, Kevin Newman SS, Jake Stallings C, Chris Archer P. Joey O is getting a good look, as he should; he's in the pasture tonight.
Arch on the bump - 2019 Donruss |
Pitchers: RHP Chris Archer (3-8/5.58) takes on RHP Marcus Stroman (6-11/2.96). Archie continues to frustrate. He hasn't won a game since early June and his last time out was against the NYM; he took the 8-7 loss. This will be Stroman's first outing as anything but a Blue Jay after spending the better part of six years in Toronto. He's usually good for six or seven solid innings; he's allowed more than three earned runs in an outing just once in the past two months.
Notes:
- Ric Rod went on the paternity list and the Bucs called up RHP Parker Markel from Indy, a recent waiver claim from Seattle, where he was roughed up in a SSS. His bread-and-butter is the slider.
- The Pirates claimed RHP Yacksel Rios off waivers from the Phillies and assigned him to Indy. The 26-year-old has 53 appearances for the Phils over the past three years, slashing 4-2/6.38.
- Tom Prince goes for his second win as Bucco skipper. Clint will be back tomorrow.
- Despite the Pirates victory last night, the club is 4-16 since the AS break, and were swept in three series.
