Pitchers: RHP Chad Kuhl (0-1/6.75) matches up against RHP Freddy Peralta (2-0/0.69) in the finale. Chad has gotten off to miserable starts and lasted just 10-2/3 IP in three starts with 15 walks, so he needs to come out focused instead of allowing free runners and falling behind in counts. Freddy walks six guys per game, but more than offsets that with 16! punch outs per nine innings and only surrendering five hits in his 13 IP. He hasn't started against Pittsburgh since 2018 but has met them 10 times, primarily from the pen. He's 1-0/3.72 and averages 11 K/9 IP.

- RHP Cody Ponce (forearm) has been reinstated from the IL and optioned to the alternate training site.
- Lest we forget all is not yet normal: The Minnesota Twins/Los Angeles Angels games last night and today have been postponed due to Minnesota's COVID-19 issues. The Twins have had at least four positive tests in the past week.
Tomorrow's Game: The Pirates have the day off before opening in Detroit. Tyler Anderson will open the set on Tuesday for the Bucs.
