JT v Alec Mills, Lineup & Notes

Game: The getaway game will start at 1:35, weather permitting, and be broadcast by AT&T SportsNet & 93.7 The Fan. It's supposed to rain until tonight, so...

Lineup: Cole Tucker RF, Erik Gonzalez SS, Colin Moran 1B, Gregory Polanco DH, Bryan Reynolds LF, Adam Frazier 2B, Anthony Alford CF, JT Riddle 3B, John Ryan Murphy C and JT Brubaker P. If you have any lineup suggestions, send it in to Shelty; we're pretty sure he'll consider it.

Pitchers: RHP JT Brubaker (0-0, 4.50) closes the set against RHP Alec Mills (3-2, 5.23). JT is progressing a step at a time; he's been workmanlike the past two outings while increasing his innings and his pitch count. He's taken on Chicago once iduring his rookie campaign, shutting them out for three innings on a hit on August 1st. The 24-year-old Mills hasn't seen the Buccos this year; in 2019, he gave up a run over three innings in a September game.

Notes:

  • The Pirates added 2019 first-round RHP Quinn Priester to their Altoona roster. The 19-year-old is considered to be a Top 5 Pirates prospect by MLB.com. Here's his tale from July by Kevin Gorman of the Trib.
  • Cincinnati is next in line, booked for a four game set with a twin bill in the middle (one a designated home game for the Reds as part of a makeup). The clubs have only met twice so far and split the series.
