Pitchers: RHP Trevor Williams (1-8, 6.70) meets RHP Kyle Hendricks. Willy has been flat out bad recently (0-4, w/30 runs, 27 earned, in 25 innings with 11 dingers), dishing out homers like Santa dishes out ho-ho-ho's. He hasn't seen the Cubbies since the end of July, and posted one of his better efforts against them, giving up three runs (two earned) on four hits with six strikeouts in 4-2/3 IP. Hendricks has been on fire this month (3-0, 1.21) and started his September run with a six-inning, one-run effort against the Bucs in his only meeting with Pittsburgh this year.
Notes:
- In his last two starts, Steven Brault had at one point put together 10 straight hitless innings. More importantly, he's on a 13-inning scoreless streak.
- Cole Tucker (concussion) has been shut down for the remainder of the season. Kevin Newman and Keone Kela are done, too.
